Scope

This meeting will discuss the envisaged requirements and attributes of future aircraft entering service up to 2030, and the required and likely contribution made to these aircraft by smart materials, structures and technologies.

Presentations will include reviews of the current status of smart materials and systems research and future aircraft requirements, while discussion will focus on the future smart materials and technologies that must be developed in order for the UK to maintain a competitive role in the aerospace sector.

Who should attend?

Academic and industrial practitioners working in the fields of smart materials, structures and technologies targeted at aerospace applications. The technologies to be discussed are purposely timebound to provide a focus on the practical application of those likely to be in-service between now and 2030.
