The UK MNT network is offering a prize of £250 to the person who submits the best image that captures any aspect of micro and nanotechnology. All images relating to micro and nanotechnology are acceptable, including scientific/digital photographs, computer simulated models and fantasy art.  


The winner will receive £250, with the top three images also being published in the third edition of the Micro & Nano Newsletter along with an interview from the photographers/designers. All other acceptable images will be used on the MNT Network websites (www.mntnetwork.com, www.mntforum.com), incorporating a courtesy comment detailing the owner and their organisation.

*Images on CD-ROM or via e-mail are preferred although printed images will also be accepted. Please see terms and conditions below.

Terms and Conditions:
This competition is organised by the UK MNT Network.

  1. A maximum of five images may be entered per person.
  2. The winner will be contacted no later than four weeks after the closing date.
  3. The person entering the competition must be the owner of the images and be able to provide evidence of this on request.
  4. Images submitted will only be used by the MNT Network Team and on MNT Network promotional material, with credit always being given to the photographer/designer and their organisation/company. By entering the competition you agree to give the MNT Network non-exclusive licence to publish and use your images without payment. The photographer/designer will retain the copyright.
  5. Previously published images cannot be accepted.
  6. All images will be judged by a panel made up of members of the MNT Network Team, their decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Entries will not be returned.
  7. Images are entered at the entrant’s risk and the MNT Network cannot accept liability for any loss or damage occurring to any images received.
  8. This competition is not open to people employed on behalf of the MNT Network.
  9. By entering, it is understood that you have agreed to adhere to these rules.
