'There was a three-day meeting in Pittsburgh from 26-28th September 2005 with the title 'What makes a good materials engineer and how should we best educate them?'.

Speakers from industry and academe addressed the thorny issues of technical content, non-technical content and learning and teaching methodology. A full report of the meeting can be downloaded from this page, with the impressions of one delegate, including a comparative list of five speakers' ideas as to the nature of the "core" materials curriculum.'
