The objective of the scheme is the support of education in materials
science and technology.
About The Worshipful company of Armourers and Brasiers
The Armourers and Brasiers are one of the Livery Companies of the City
of London. The company dates from 1322 and is now a charity concerned
with the protection and improvement of their craft, material science
and technology.

School Schemes
- Scholarships for those intending to study materials science
at University (15 per year at £350)
- Other school/university links
in the materials sciences.
Undergraduate Schemes
- 24 hours with Corus (Autumn term)
Undergraduate students spending an afternoon evening and morning at
a Corus plant with site tours, talks from recent graduates and
mangers about the work they undertake.
- Placement applicants site tours (Early Spring term)
Selected undergraduates who have applied to Corus for placements
are invited for a site tour at a Corus plant followed by an evening
with
members of the Armourers and Brasiers, the recruitment team and prospective
line managers. Information on the opportunities for sponsorship in
their final year plus details of the Corus / A&B undergraduate
awards they will be eligible for if their application is successful.
- Placement Student awards (2 awards of £1500)
Open to undergraduate placement students who have completed a minimum
of 12 weeks placement at a Corus site by the closing date of 23rd
September 2005.
Postgraduate
Funding available for costs associated
with presenting papers at conferences.
