New for 2009. STEM Subject Centres commission impact evaluation report. Your comments and suggestions welcomed ...

As one of the six STEM* Subject Centres, Materials has commissioned a joint evaluation to help us identify how effectively we are working with our subject communities to support the improvement of teaching and learning within the disciplines.

As part of this year long evaluation, you may be asked about some aspect of UKCME’s work. If you are asked, we hope you will be willing to contribute a few minutes and a few ideas. This collaborative evaluation is being undertaken, not to provide another evaluation report, but to help each of the six STEM Subject Centres to learn from each other. The evaluation will also help us understand better the work we undertake with you, and how we can make this work more effective and more useful to you.

The evaluation is being carried out by Dr David Baume, an experienced academic developer and evaluator. David would be grateful for comments and suggestions from you, on the work of the Subject Centre and on questions he should be asking – adbaume@aol.com

*STEM Group consists of Materials, Biosciences, Engineering, Information and Computer Sciences, Maths Stats & OR and Physical Sciences Subject Centres
