Tutoring Materials is an initiative that is evaluating the effectiveness of optimal tutoring conditions in a consortium of ten UK universities, which aims to enhance the development of key skills, active learning, and employability of students within the subject area of Materials Science and Engineering.
The initiative is being led by Imperial College, and hosted by the UK Centre for Materials Education. Support is being provided by HEFCE, under the FDTL (Fund for the Development of Teaching and Learning) scheme.

Dr Jane Pritchard
There is a bewildering array of science, engineering and technology (SET)
initiatives on offer in the UK, predominantly directed at schools. There
are few schemes that specifically target materials but some materials
content is present in a number of initiatives. Jane is undertaking a review
of a number of these schemes with the aim to develop some guidelines for
current scheme organiser with respect to good practice in running initiatives
and also a searchable database of the initiatives for everyone to use.
